How to get a good scan, what the scores mean, and how to reach us.

The quickest way is Report an issue, in the bar at the bottom of every screen in the app. Describe what happened and send it. The report includes the photos and results from that scan, so we can look at exactly what the app saw.

You can also email hello@skinovance.com.

Getting a good scan

Reading your scores

Each score goes from 0 to 100, and a higher number means more of a concern. A moisture score of 90 means very dry skin, not well-hydrated skin. Under 30 is marked Good, 30 to 69 Caution, and 70 or more Warning. The grey number next to yours is the average for your gender and age group.

Tap any row under Detailed Skin Diagnosis to see the photos behind that score, with what the app detected drawn on top, and the false-colour views.

Common questions

My photos look blurry.

It's almost always the distance. Hold the phone where the capture screen tells you to, not as close as you can.

Are my photos uploaded?

No. The analysis runs on your phone and your history stays there. Photos are only sent if you file an issue report. The privacy policy has the details.

Can I turn off the voice?

Yes, with the speaker button on the capture screen. The written instructions stay on screen. If you'd rather not be guided at all, switch to manual mode.

Why these products?

They're picked for the two scores that came out highest, plus a sunscreen for your skin type. The links open Amazon in your browser, and nothing is bought inside the app. We may earn a commission if you buy something after following a link. Buy from the brand's official store on Amazon, because fakes of popular skincare products are common.

Is this a medical diagnosis?

No. Skinovance gives cosmetic guidance only. It isn't a medical device and doesn't diagnose or treat anything. If something on your skin worries you, see a doctor or dermatologist.

Accounts

You don't need one. Scanning, results and history all work without signing in, and they stay on your phone. You only need an account (email and password, from the account button at the top of the screen) to send an issue report, so we have an address to reply to.

Deleting your account. Tap the account button, choose Delete account and confirm. This permanently deletes your account, every issue report you sent and every photo attached to them. Your scans and history aren't affected, because they were never on our servers. To remove those, delete the app.

Forgot your password? Tap the account button, then Forgot password, and we'll email you a reset link.

What you need

An iPhone with iOS 17 or later and a rear camera. The app is available in English, Chinese and Korean.
