What the Skinovance app collects, why, and how to have it deleted. The list is short because the skin analysis runs entirely on your phone.

Summary
- You don't need an account. Scanning, results and history all work without one. An account is only needed to send an issue report, so we have somewhere to reply.
- Your skin photos are analysed on your phone. They are not uploaded, and neither are your results.
- Your scan history stays on your phone. Deleting the app deletes it.
- The only thing that leaves your phone is an issue report, and only when you tap Report an issue and send it.
- The app has no advertising, analytics or tracking tools and doesn't use your advertising identifier (IDFA). We don't sell or share data with data brokers.
What stays on your phone
The photos you take, the scores calculated from them, your skin type and skin age, and your scan history (including the thumbnails in the History list) are stored only in the app's own storage on your phone. The six scores are calculated by code running on the phone. No photo is sent anywhere to produce them.
Your settings (language, guided or manual capture, countdown length, voice on or off) are also stored on the phone.
What we collect, and only when you choose to send it
| Data | When | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Your email address, if you create an account | Only if you sign up. The account is optional and is only needed for issue reports. | So we can reply to your report, and so you can sign back in |
| Your issue report: what you wrote, the photos from that scan, the full results and how each score was worked out, a screenshot of the screen, and your device model, iOS version, app version and language | Only when you tap Report an issue and send it | So we can answer a question about your results, or find and fix a bug |
That's everything. We don't collect your location, contacts, health records or advertising identifier, and we collect nothing at all unless you create an account or send a report.
Camera and photos
Camera: used to take the close-up photos for a scan. The images are analysed on the phone and nothing from the camera is sent anywhere.
Photo library: in manual mode you can choose existing photos instead. The app only receives the photos you pick in the system picker. It can't browse or upload the rest of your library.
Product links
Your results may include skincare product suggestions. These are ordinary links that open Amazon in your browser. Nothing is bought inside the app, and we don't send Amazon any information about you. We may earn a commission if you buy something after following a link. Once you're on Amazon, Amazon's privacy policy applies.
Who else handles your data
Accounts and issue reports are stored with Google Firebase (Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore and Cloud Storage), which processes them for us as our infrastructure provider. No other third party receives anything about how you use the app, because nothing else leaves your phone.
We don't sell your personal information or share it with advertisers or data brokers. We only disclose data in other cases if the law requires it.
How long we keep it
Issue reports, including their photos, are kept while we work on the issue and then deleted. An account is kept until you delete it. Everything else is only on your phone, for as long as you keep the app.
Your choices
- Use the whole app without sending us anything. Just don't file a report.
- Delete your scans from the phone by deleting the app, or replace them by scanning again.
- Delete your account and everything sent with it: in the app, tap the account button at the top of the screen and choose Delete account. This immediately and permanently deletes your account, every issue report you sent and every photo attached to them. There's no email step and no waiting period.
- To have a single report deleted while keeping your account, email us and tell us roughly when you sent it.
- Change camera or photo access in iOS Settings → Skinovance.
Depending on where you live, you may have more rights over your personal data. Email us and we will honour them.

Children
Skinovance is not intended for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. If you think a child has sent us data, email hello@skinovance.com and we will delete it.
